Stevens County Information

Indigent veterans can apply for Veteran Relief Funds by contacting a veteran service officer from one of the veteran organizations listed below.  All requests for assistance must come directly from a chartered veteran’s service organization recognized by the county.

The mission of the Stevens County Veterans Relief Fund is to provide emergency relief to indigent veterans who currently reside in Stevens County-to the extent that funds are available. Stevens County will assist the local veteran organizations in their efforts to administer these funds and to provide fiscal accountability to the control of these funds.

The funds are meant to assist indigent veterans, their families, and the families of deceased indigent veterans in the event of severe financial difficulties. The fund can only be used to assist individuals with basic needs if they are unable to do so, and there is a limit on the amount of funding an individual can receive. The veteran service organizations can provide a copy of the policies and procedures if requested to do so.
