Trainer(s): Allen Boivin-Brown, MA | Nerissa del Rosario
Location: Shoreline Conference Center
18560 1st Ave NE
Shoreline, WA 98155
In this impactful, four-day training you will gain a new, powerful approach to assisting Veterans by focusing on building strengths rather than fixing weaknesses. You will gain the skills, knowledge and training to deliver the time-tested Dependable Strengths Articulation Process (DSAP) to your clients, and upon successful completion be certified as a Dependable Strengths Facilitator for Veterans.
The DSAP was originally developed to assist WWII Veterans transition from military to civilian work and has been refined and proven effective for over 60 years. The DSAP enables Veterans to identify and prove their unique, core strengths, then apply them in an effective, non-traditional job-search method to find compatible and meaningful work. It consists of a systematic series of activities involving individual and group work, discussion, short lecture, and other experiential learning. Research at the University of Washington and years of experience have confirmed the DSAP also reaches deeply to increase self-esteem, motivation, mental health, self-direction, and employability.
You will learn by “doing" in two phases: Phase 1- experience this engaging and empowering process for yourself to uncover your own unique strengths and apply them in the non-traditional jobs search method, the Job Magnet System. Phase 2 - receive in-depth training to deliver the DSAP to your clientele. You do not need to be a professional trainer to facilitate the DSAP. Every word and all materials needed to deliver the DSAP are provided in a detailed Facilitator’s Manual.
This is the first DSAP training specifically designed for Veteran Service Providers and is offered by the non-profit Center for Dependable Strengths in Seattle, in affiliation with the Dependable Strengths Project at the University of Washington.
