Spokane Veterans Home Superintendent is Appointed

The Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs is proud to announce the appointment of Chad Salter as Superintendent of the Spokane Veterans Home

Salter is an eight year veteran of the United States Army, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. He served at Landstuhl, Germany and Joint Base Lewis-McCord at the Madigan Army Medical Center teaching dental forensics as the Associate Director of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department.  Salter also worked at Huron Healthcare Consulting, the Spokane VA Medical Center and several Spokane-area long-term care facilities prior to joining WDVA. 

“We are excited to welcome Chad to the WDVA family at the Spokane Veterans Home,” said Gary Condra, WDVA Deputy Director. “He began his nursing home career as a nursing assistant and has a heartfelt passion for serving our veterans and their families.”

As a Washington State Licensed Nursing Home Administrator, Salter also holds two Masters Degrees, one in Business Administration with a Human Resource Management concentration and one in Public Administration, and a Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration. 

Salter, his wife Aleshia Kienke, and three children live in the greater Spokane area.
