Faced with an aging workforce, industries need more skilled workers who can support safe, effective, and environmentally-sound facilities. Students enrolled in the Plant Operations program at Walla Walla Community College are upgrading their technical knowledge/skills and graduating with jobs as technicians and operators. The program was enabled by AHB and developed by the Agricultural Center of Excellence at Walla Walla Community College to prepare a bioenergy workforce.

In this webinar, Jason Selwitz (ACE Project Manager, Plant Ops Instructor/Advisor) will share stories and statistics about the Plant Operations program. In addition, hear from the students themselves in a brand-new video premiering as part of the webinar!

Who Should Attend?
Technical college instructors and administrators, prospective students, industry representatives (bioenergy, wastewater, public works, food processing, etc.), community organizers, policy makers, AHB members and partners.

Presenters: Jason Selwitz, Project Manager, Agricultural Center of Excellence, and WWCC Plant Operations Instructor/Advisor

Sponsored by: Washington State University Extension with funding from Agriculture and Food Research Initiative (AFRI) Competitive Grant no. 2011-68005-30407 from the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA).
