Emily Danekas, MS, LMFT

Emily J Danekas is a licensed marriage and family therapist as well as a certified grief counselor, bringing two decades of clinical experience to her practice. Her career includes roles such as counseling at a residential chemical dependency center, serving in a community health medical clinic, working in a wilderness program for incarcerated youth, operating a private practice, and acting as both chaplain and bereavement counselor for a non-profit hospice organization. Currently, she is the director at NorthEast Washington Family Counseling in Colville, WA, where she offers individual and group therapy and focuses particularly on grief care. She is grateful to be working in an office that holds the honor of working with military veterans and their families. Her availability to clients is both in person and via Telehealth.

Emily lives in Northeast Washington with her husband - keeping a watchful eye on her two almost adult children . When not serving clients she loves to be outside - gardening, tending her chickens, biking, fishing, hiking, or camping. She spends countless hours on the banks of the Columbia River with her two dogs Nika and Nala.
