Morgan Montes

Morgan Montes (she/her) joined WDVA in 2022.  She has over 14 years of state government experience and has held various leadership roles and has a wealth of experience facilitating and leading transformation projects. Her organizational development experience includes process improvement, performance management, strategy development, and change management. Morgan joined WDVA from Department of Revenue’s Lean Transformation Office where she was the Lean Capacity Development Manager. Prior to that she led an organizational change management team as part of a 5-year, $74 million tax and licensing system replacement project. Morgan is passionate about creating engaging environments for employees to collaboratively problem solve, creating even more value for Veterans and their families, and building trust in state government.

Morgan earned her undergraduate degree from Western Washington University’s School of Finance and Economics and went on to earn a master’s degree in Public Administration with an emphasis in public policy from The Evergreen State College. She is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and a PROSCI certified Change Practitioner. Morgan is known for her optimistic and action-oriented attitude.

When not at work, Morgan enjoys time with her family, golfing, snowboarding, surfing, hiking, and traveling. Morgan is a spouse of a military veteran and resides in Olympia with her husband and two children.
