William McElya joined the WDVA team as the Home Administrator of our Washington Veterans Home (WVH) in Port Orchard on Monday, May 4, 2020. William has served as a nursing home administrator since 2014 and originally was licensed in Ohio. In 2018, he received his Washington license and worked at a long term care facility in Tacoma.
Prior to becoming an administrator, William founded and ran an Adult Care Facility for veterans in Springfield, OH. William is an eight-year veteran of the U.S. Army and served as an acquisitions/logistics specialist with the Forward Support Reconnaissance in the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg NC. William comes from a family of health care providers and is passionate about serving the needs of those requiring nursing home care. William is married and has two children. In his free time, he and his family love to spend time outdoors and attending sporting events.
