Description
Enterprise for Equity has learned that veterans have unique and strong skill sets which are highly transferable to entrepreneurship. Often these skills, such as discipline, leadership, decision-making, problem-solving, self-motivation, etc., are so wired into them that they don’t even realize they have these transferable skills which are highly valuable and applicable in an entrepreneurial setting.
Many veterans want to be their own boss - applying their passion, values, skills and talents to a business they own. Enterprise for Equity supports veterans and spouses of veterans in building any kind of federally legal business, and we have a special interest in working with veterans who are interested in farm and food related enterprises.
In addition to offering Business Readiness Workshops and comprehensive Business Planning Programs, we help veterans find land and funding for their startup business or for an existing business to expand. We also partner with the Farmer Veterans' Coalition to support veterans who want to farm to be able to learn farming skills and gain farming experience.
Objective
To assist veterans who want to be their own boss and build their own systems and structures into their businesses to become more efficient and effective.
