Tena

Tena Chevalier became the Director of Clinical Compliance in March 2024. She joined the WDVA team in 2017 and served as Director of Nursing Services at The Washington Soldiers Home, where she was a successful clinical leader. Her leadership provided the Washington Soldiers Home with stability and exceptional clinical outcomes. Her knowledge and ability to implement systems and keep them in place have enabled Washington Soldiers Home to become a CMS 5 Star Overall rated facility.

With over 20 years of experience in nursing, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this new role.17 of those years have been dedicated to working in Nursing Homes with the Long-Term Care population in various roles such as Medication- Treatment Nurse, Charge Nurse, Resident Care Manager, Assistant Director of Nursing and Director of Nursing Services.

Tena shared that she is honored and excited to have the opportunity to work with all 4 of the Washington Veterans Homes in the capacity of the Clinical Compliance Director while Serving Those Who Served.

Outside of work, she enjoys reading, cooking, being outdoors (preferably in the sunshine) and spending time with family.
