On behalf of the Washington-Tacoma Korean American Association and the Consul General of Korea in Seattle, we would like to invite the veteran community and active service members to participate in the 76th Anniversary Commemoration of the Start of the Korean War. This event honors the nearly 17,000 Korean War veterans residing in Washington State.
The commemoration will take place on June 20, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00pm at the Korean War Memorial in Olympia. This occasion coincides with the 33rd anniversary of the memorial's dedication on July 24, 1994. We will gather community leaders, veterans, families, and supporters to remember the sacrifices made during the Korean War.
We are proud to partner with the Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs and the Korean Unification Association of Washington State to make this commemoration especially meaningful. We anticipate approximately 300 attendees for this important event.
Your presence and support would be greatly appreciated as we pay tribute to the service and sacrifices of our Korean War veterans and their families. It would be an honor to have you join us in recognizing their enduring legacy.
Thank you for your continued leadership and commitment to our veteran community. We sincerely hope you can attend.
