November 11, 2022 12:30 - 14:00

The Sacajawea Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will partner with the United States Department of Defense on Veterans Day, November 11, 2022 to pay tribute to Washington State Vietnam Veterans. A commemoration pinning ceremony at 12:30 p.m. at the Vietnam War Memorial on the Washington State Capital campus in Olympia will honor living U.S. veterans who served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces at any time during the period of November 1, 1955 to May 15, 1975, with a lapel pin as a lasting memento of the nation’s thanks.

The DAR members will participate in the ceremony by reading the names of veterans who are listed as killed in action (KIA) or missing in action (MIA). The ceremony is slated to begin at 12:30 p.m. and will continue until all names have been read.

Participating in this reverent ceremony, in addition to the organization’s other support of the armed forces, is a tangible way for DAR members to say "thank you" by acknowledging and recognizing veterans' service, sacrifice, and commitment to the preservation of our nation's freedom. The Sacajawea Chapter of the Daughters of American Revolution is comprised of Thurston and Lewis counties.
