History
On July 25, 2021, the Washington State Legislature passed HB 1250, officially designating the state a Purple Heart State; this further acknowledges the Washington States’ gratitude to the men and women of the military who were killed or wounded as a result of an act of an enemy of the United States or in military combat.

Donate today!
All Individuals and Organizations are invited to donate to thank and honor Veterans who were killed or wounded and received a Purple Heart in service to their country. Donations in any amount are welcome and every donation counts! (We are currently unable to accept online or credit card donations.)
If interested in fully sponsoring a sign, please use the attached form to specify where you propose the sign be located. Please note, this campaign covers our state highway system and not county roads or city streets unless part of a state highway system.
Total Sign Costs:
• $1,100 Larger Signs (36” x 36”) for roadways with speed limits 50mph or greater ($500 on existing signpost)
• $1,000 Smaller Signs (24” x 24”) for roadways with speed limits 45mph or less ($400 on existing signpost)
Donors who fully sponsor a sign will receive a certificate to display in office locations and on social media sites!
As a first priority, donations will be used to place signs at our 34 highway entrances. The exception to this will be for organizations that fully sponsor a sign who request it be placed in another state highway location.
