Matthew Lysobey
The Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs is proud to announce the appointment of Matthew Lysobey as the Administrator of the Washington Veterans Home. Matthew assumes responsibility of the Veterans Home on March 20 and relieved Dan Murray, who served as Interim Administrator and will return to his position as the WDVA Chief of Homes Operations.
Matthew’s professional background in healthcare began when he served as a combat medic in the 101st Airborne. He served in the U.S. Army from 1986-1989.
After serving, he pursued his Master of Public Health with an emphasis in Healthcare Administration with the intent to join the movement to transform long-term care. His first facility as an Administrator was in College Place, WA. Since that time, he has served in a variety of roles including Regional Vice President.
Matthew was invited to be a keynote speaker at the American Health Care Association, the American Medical Directors Association and has published many articles about serviced-based programming in nursing homes.
Matthew enjoys spending time with his wife, hiking, kayaking and exploring all the Olympic Peninsula has to offer. He is honored to have the opportunity to work with the residents and staff at the Washington Veterans Home.
