Spokane Veterans Home Welcomes 4 Residents Home

May 8, 2020:  Yesterday, the Spokane Veterans Home welcomed home three residents who have recovered from COVID-19, with a fourth resident returning home today.  It was a joyous occasion and many staff were overcome with emotion at the sight of the Veterans returning home!

“It is heartwarming to see our Veterans again and to know they’ve overcome such a formidable foe,” said Patrick McNabb, administrator of the Spokane Veterans Home.  “Our Team at the Spokane Veterans Home is eager to welcome them and stand ready to provide the care they so richly deserve. These homecomings are emotional moments for our staff members and offer a sense of hope during incredibly trying times.”

Residents are able to return from the Mann-Grandstaff VAMC once they have 2 negative COVID-19 tests within 24 hours.  The Spokane Veterans Home established a special COVID-19 Recovery Wing and residents will remain in this quarantine area for 14 days as a precaution, prior to moving back to their own room.
