Veterans Day….

This is a day, when we join as one community, to thank and reflect upon our veterans, service members, and their families, celebrate and thank them for their service.

Service before self is not new, and YOUR Washington Department of Veterans Affairs takes pride, each and every day, in its mission of “Serving Those Who Served.”

This year’s Veterans Day Poster centers around our nation’s honored and storied Old Guard conducting their walk in front of the Tomb of the Unknowns… and from that, we remember that their duties are just like every other service member….Ever watchful, protecting and holding a dignified service .

We know of veterans and service members that are experiencing hurt, anger, confusion and more on current events following the end of the war in Afghanistan. What’s important  more than ever, is to remember that your Washington Department of Veterans Affairs….STANDS BY YOU!

Together, as one community, we all can serve.  Whether it’s volunteering, supporting state and/or civil service, joining the military or making a timely referral for services, we can celebrate every day… Not just on November 11.

Your Washington Department of Veterans Affairs can be a gateway and resource to supportive programs such as the War Trauma Counseling Program, Veterans Peer Corps, Vet Corps, and other resources. We can also facilitate a connection to other programs and organizations.  We just need to hear from you so that we can be there for you!

To those who served during our past wars: Afghanistan, Iraq, Kuwait, the Cold War, Vietnam, Korea WWII and earlier, we honor and salute you for performing your mission with honor, valor, and distinction

Wishing you, a happy Veterans Day and please make sure to thank our veterans community members for their service and sacrifices.
