The Vietnam Memorial on Capitol Campus will be the site of a special event on March 30, 2024, as the community comes together to honor and welcome home Vietnam Veterans. The Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Ceremony will commence at 12:00 p.m., and all are invited to attend.

Vietnam Veterans in Washington State will now be officially recognized as "Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans" in statute, replacing the previous designation of "Vietnam Veterans War Day." This change comes after years of advocacy by veterans and their supporters, who have long sought to acknowledge the challenges faced by these brave individuals upon their return from service.
