Military Spouse Initiative Mission and Vision

Mission:  The Military Spouse Liaison through the Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs, Washington Military Transition & Readiness Council and in collaboration with partners, will reduce and remove employment barriers for military spouses residing in Washington, connect military spouses to the resources and benefits available to them, and convene collaborations of partners serving the military spouse community.

Through this mission focus, the Military Spouse Liaison will contribute to the mission of the Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs: “Serving those who served” by serving military spouses.

Vision:  Every military spouse in the State of Washington is empowered and supported on their journey to fulfilling their needs and/or finding meaningful employment, whether Washington is a duty station stop along their active-duty service member’s career path or their military family’s destination following transition from military service, making Washington the premier choice state for military and veteran families.

Through this vision, the Military Spouse Liaison will contribute to the vision of the Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs: “All Washington Veterans and their families are connected to their earned benefits.”
