Yakima County: The veteran community is invited to a Women Veterans Forum from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at the Yakima Valley VA Clinic and Veterans Town Hall from 10:00 to 12:30 on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at the VFW Post 379 in Yakima, Washington.
This double event is being held by the Governor’s Veterans Affairs Advisory Committee (VAAC) and the Women Veterans Advisory Committee (WVAC).
Community partners and service providers will be sharing how they are serving veterans and their families from the area. Veterans, families, and service providers are invited to attend and learn about programs and services available to them.
The VAAC is composed of 17 members and advises the Governor and the director of the Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA) on issues and programs concerning veterans.
The WVAC is made up of 14 members and strives to ensure that Washington's women veterans have equitable access to federal and state veterans' services and benefits. The WVAC is excited to join the VAAC by holding the first "she served" forum prior to the Town Hall. Women Veterans are encouraged to attend to connect and discuss the needs of Washington State Women Veterans in your region and how we can provide equitable access and support through continuous outreach and engagement.
Join the Town Hall livestream starting at 10am where you will have an opportunity to comment and ask questions www.facebook.com/WSDVA/videos
