The Veteran Legislative Coalition (VLC) hosts its Annual Legislative Reception

OLYMPIA, Wash.  — The Veteran Legislative Coalition (VLC) hosted a remarkable reception at the Legislative Building on Friday January 12, honoring both veterans and legislators who have shown unwavering support for them.

The reception, attended by esteemed legislators and distinguished veterans, was a testament to the commitment and sacrifice exhibited by these remarkable individuals. Their actions serve as a constant source of inspiration, motivating others to make a positive difference in their communities.

Among the attendees was Governor Jay Inslee, who publicly thanked VLC member Susan Woods and gave her a card signed by many attendees for all her hard work and coordination for the event.

The event provided an opportunity for attendees to come together and express their gratitude for the sacrifices made by veterans and the legislators who champion their cause. It was a joyous occasion, filled with heartfelt conversations and shared memories. The camaraderie and sense of unity in the room were visible, creating an atmosphere of appreciation and respect.

During the event, members of the Veterans Affairs Advisory Committee (VAAC) were provided an opportunity to recognize several legislators with Outstanding Service to Veterans awards.

(pictured left is Senator Gildon, pictured right is Representative Chapman who received an award from a previous year.  Representative Leavitt was also recognized in 2023 and received her award during the Auburn Veterans Day Parade in November.
