TBI Toolkit

Welcome to the Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Toolkit

At the Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs, we understand the challenges that veterans with traumatic brain injuries (TBI) face every day. Our TBI Toolkit is designed to support veterans and their families by providing helpful resources, tools, and information to navigate the road to recovery and well-being.

Whether you're newly diagnosed with a TBI, seeking support for a loved one, or simply looking for more information, this toolkit is a starting point for understanding TBI, accessing care, and finding resources that fit your unique needs. We have compiled expert guidance, emotional support tools, and practical advice to empower you in your healing journey.

This toolkit includes:

  • Educational Resources: Understand brain injury types, symptoms, treatment options, and recovery pathways.
  • Journaling Prompts & Exercises: Explore your thoughts, track progress, and support emotional healing through guided journaling.
  • Support Networks: Connect with veteran groups, family support services, and mental health resources across Washington State.
  • Helpful Links & Services: Discover trusted state and national organizations offering tools and support for veterans living with TBI.

This is more than just a resource, it's a space to build understanding, find connection, and embrace healing. Explore the toolkit, take the next step in your recovery journey, and know that you are not alone.
