459 Veterans served by Vet Corps members/coordinators
20 Veteran family members served by Vet Corps members/coordinators
81 Veterans referred to on campus programs
33 Veterans provided financial assistance which prevented homelessness
139 Veterans provided financial assistance for food, utilities, transportation or other necessities

The WDVA Vet Corps is funded through an AmeriCorps grant.

Vet Corps members are stationed at many colleges, universities and community organizations throughout Washington state.

Vet Corps members help veterans achieve their goals by:

  • Providing training and support to faculty, staff, administration, community members to increase awareness of veterans’ needs;
  • Providing a peer connection for veterans;
  • Helping the sites to meet the needs of veterans; and
  • Providing veterans with connections to federal, state or local veteran’s benefits.

The Vet Corps helps veterans and their family members navigate Washington’s higher education, community programs as veterans adjust from military to civilian life.

 

May, 2021: Veterans Conservations Corps is currently offering several internships in locations like Orting, Olympia, Okanogan, Tumwater, Spokane, Colfax, Shelton and Lake Stevens.
